Philosophy and Background
I am dedicated to providing a gentle, effective, and natural alternative in health care for everyone. I was drawn to homeopathy through my own experience with fibromyalgia, (read more about this here).
The experience of being a patient allowed me to see that illness often provides us with the clues we need in order to achieve a whole new level of well-being. Being and staying well allows us the freedom to live out our lives as we wish, putting our energy into bettering ourselves, our loved ones, and the world around us. It is my hope that more and more people can come to experience the power of homeopathy and that we might raise our expectations toward true healing, and away from the notion of covering up our symptoms with short-term, and even harmful measures.
I use a Classical Hahnemannian approach, practicing according to the fundamental tenets of
homeopathic theory. Pure Hahnemannian homeopathy has proven to be effective for hundreds
of years and is based on scientific methods of observation.
This approach to treatment emphasizes the totality of a person's symptoms, thereby aiming at treating
the whole being and raising the overall level of vitality. Remedies are given one at a time, and in
the minimum dose, which allows for careful follow-up, analysis, fine-tuning of each prescription,
and little chance of aggravation. I use only remedies that have been tested in reliable provings.
Education and Qualifications
Graduating with honours from University of Toronto, I specialized in Social and Cultural Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, and HIV/AIDS in Africa. I then earned my diploma in Community Work, and worked within the Native Community in Toronto for a few years, building upon a passion for social justice.
After falling ill myself, I came in touch with homeopathy: within weeks of taking my first homeopathic remedy, I was hooked on this fascinating healing modality. At the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine, I learned Classical Hahnemannian prescribing from some of the world's best teachers; I have done additional training with world-renowned homeopath Dr. Andre Saine. I use nutrition, counseling, and sometimes herbs as complimentary tools in the healing process.
I am a Registered Homeopath with the College of Homeopaths of Ontario #15149.
